રાજેશ એક્સપોર્ટ્સ પર સેબીના તારણો નાણાકીય વર્ષ 21 અને નાણાકીય વર્ષ 25 વચ્ચે બિન-ચકાસાયેલ વિદેશી કંપનીઓના નેટવર્ક દ્વારા લગભગ ₹15 લાખ કરોડ ($150 બિલિયન) ની આવક ખોટી રીતે રજૂ કરવામાં આવી હોવાનું ચિંતાજનક ચિત્ર ઉજાગર કરે છે.
સૌથી આશ્ચર્યજનક પાસું એ છે કે જૂથની મુખ્ય સ્વિસ પેટાકંપની, વાલ્કેમ્બી SA, જેના આંકડા તેના વૈશ્વિક કદને ન્યાયી ઠેરવે છે, તેના ઓડિટેડ સ્વિસ ખાતાઓમાં ફક્ત થોડાક સો કરોડની વાર્ષિક આવક દર્શાવે છે. છતાં, તેની ઉપરના જૂથ માળખાએ ઘણા લાખ કરોડની આવકનો દાવો કર્યો હતો.
એક વ્યવસાય જે કથિત રીતે ફક્ત રિફાઇનિંગ અને પ્રોસેસિંગ ચાર્જ કમાય છે તે જૂથ સ્તરે એવો અંદાજ લગાવવામાં આવ્યો હતો કે જાણે તે તેના સંચાલન દ્વારા વહેતા સોનાના સમગ્ર મૂલ્યની માલિકી ધરાવે છે અને તેનો વેપાર કરે છે.
સેબીના આદેશમાં આ બાબતો પર ભાર મૂકવામાં આવ્યો છે:
~યોગ્ય ઇન્વોઇસ નથી
~ગ્રાહક કે વિક્રેતા મુજબ વિગતો નથી
~ERP ઍક્સેસ નથી
~જર્નલ ડમ્પ નથી
~પેટાકંપની નાણાકીય નિવેદનો ગુમ થયા છે
~માહિતી નકારવા માટે સ્વિસ ગોપનીયતા કાયદાનો ઉલ્લેખ કરવામાં આવ્યો છે
જો આ ચેતવણીઓ વર્ષોથી અસ્તિત્વમાં છે, તો એક વાજબી પ્રશ્ન ઊભો થાય છે - જ્યારે નાગરિકોને સોનાની ખરીદીથી દૂર રહેવાની સલાહ આપવામાં આવી રહી હતી ત્યારે શું સરકારને આની જાણ હતી અને છેલ્લા 9 વર્ષમાં કંપનીમાં LICનો હિસ્સો 1.80% થી વધારીને 10.80% કેમ કરવામાં આવ્યો?
એક ચિંતાજનક પેટર્ન ઉભરી રહી છે.
સૌપ્રથમ, સેબીનો આરોપ છે કે રાજેશ એક્સપોર્ટ્સે ₹15.15 લાખ કરોડની આવક ખોટી રીતે રજૂ કરી હતી જ્યારે LIC ~11% હિસ્સો ધરાવે છે.
વોશિંગ્ટન પોસ્ટે અગાઉ અહેવાલ આપ્યો હતો કે યુએસ છેતરપિંડી અને લાંચના આરોપો પછી અદાણી સામ્રાજ્યને મજબૂત બનાવવા માટે $3.9 બિલિયન LIC-સમર્થિત બચાવ યોજના કથિત રીતે ઘડવામાં આવી હતી.

જ્યારે નફાનું ખાનગીકરણ થાય છે, ત્યારે જાહેર સંસ્થાઓ ખુશ થાય છે. જ્યારે જોખમો વિસ્ફોટ થાય છે, ત્યારે લાખો સામાન્ય ભારતીયોની બચત ખુલ્લી પડી જાય છે.
ભારત એવી LIC ને પાત્ર છે જે પોલિસીધારકોનું રક્ષણ કરે - રાજકીય રીતે જોડાયેલા કોર્પોરેટ સામ્રાજ્યોનું નહીં
SEBI’s findings on Rajesh Exports reveal a disturbing picture about the revenue misstatement of nearly ₹15 lakh crore ($150 billion) between FY21 and FY25 through a network of unverified overseas entities.
The most striking aspect is that Valcambi SA, the group’s flagship Swiss subsidiary whose numbers supposedly justified its global stature reportedly showed only a few hundred crores of annual revenue in its audited Swiss accounts. Yet, the group structure above it claimed revenues running into several lakh crores.
A business that allegedly earned only refining and processing charges was projected at the group level as if it owned and traded the entire value of the gold flowing through its operations.
SEBI’s order highlights:
~No proper invoices
~No customer or vendor wise details
~No ERP access
~No journal dumps
~Missing subsidiary financial statements
~Swiss confidentiality laws cited to deny information
If these red flags existed for years, a legitimate question arises- Was the govt aware of them when citizens were being advised to stay away from gold purchases and why was LIC’s stake in the company increased from 1.80% to 10.80% in last 9 years?
A disturbing pattern keeps emerging.
First, SEBI alleges Rajesh Exports misrepresented ₹15.15 lakh crore of revenue while LIC sat on a ~11% stake.
The Washington Post reported earlier that a $3.9 billion LIC-backed rescue plan was allegedly crafted to shore up the Adani empire after U.S. fraud and bribery charges.
Different companies. Same bagholder: LIC.
When profits are privatized, public institutions cheer. When risks explode, the savings of millions of ordinary Indians are left exposed.
India deserves a LIC that protects policyholders—not politically connected corporate empires
